Depending on their need or application, industrial pins are designed to couple, align, mount and assemble multiple workpieces in operation. Our range features dowel pins, used to keep machines in accurate alignment. In addition to these, we stock hairpin cotter pins, used for securing components.
Our Dowl Pins are made from Acetal, also called Polyacetal or Polyoxymethylene (POM); a high strength, low-friction engineering plastic with excellent wearing properties in environments both wet and dry. Acetal is chemically resistant to hydrocarbons, solvents, and neutral chemicals, and is an ideal material in parts designed to replace metal. Acetal offers a wide operating temperature range from -40 up to 120C. This material works well with other polymers and metal components. It has great dimensional stability for high-precision moulding applications, including those in aerospace, automotive, and chemical processing to name but a few.
A Dowel Pin can be used to join two or more parts together, and are commonly used as structural reinforcements for cabinet making and other similar applications. They can also be used as a stop pin or insulating spacer in either mechanical or electrical applications.
Hairpin Cotter Pins are R-shaped clips of hardened metal wire commonly used to secure the end of round shafts in applications such as axles.
