What is a cable gland?

Cable glands are defined as mechanical cable entry devices used in conjunction with cable and wiring for electrical equipment, instrumentation & control. They support in ingress protection and are known for their strain-relief abilities.

Cable glands, renowned for their corrosion resistance properties, also provide earthing, grounding, bonding and insulation to maintain the life of your cables.

Types of Cable Glands

They give water tight protection to spare holes that need to be closed off. Optional lock nuts can be used for closing holes without a thread.

Cable Gland Inserts

These cable gland inserts are designed to fit inside a metric cable gland. They are available with a various number of holes that allow several cables to be led through it simultaneously. They provide excellent watertight protection for each wire. There is no need for a gland for each wire which reduces the space that is needed.
