Essentra makes significant advances in climate commitment scores
Essentra Components, a leading manufacturer of essential components and solutions, has received its latest Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) scores, scoring an impressive A- for its climate commitments, a B for ‘Water’ and B- rating for ‘Forests’.
The 16 ‘Climate’ categories include risk disclosure, emissions reduction initiatives, targets, emissions and more. Essentra scored an ‘A-’ and above rating for 13 of the 16 of these categories.
Essentra scored B- and above for more than half of the 12 CDP ‘Forest’ criteria, which include governance, environmental policies and public policy engagement and industry collaboration. In the ‘Water’ category, Essentra scored B- or above against nine of the 11 sub-categories, to give a B rating for Water overall. These include water accounting, governance, risk disclosure and opportunity disclosure.
Jennifer Spence, ESG Director at Essentra, is pleased with the results and said the ratings highlight the organization’s commitment to sustainability: “We’re incredibly proud of our environmental commitments so far.” She explains, “There is always more to do and we know that in doing so we benefit our customers, our company and, crucially, the planet.”
She adds: “Essentra has a stated ambition to be the world’s leading responsible supplier of essential industrial components. These scores prove that we are on the right track.”
CDP scores play a critical role in moving companies from transparency to action, and in delivering tangible improvements to the bottom line. CDP A List companies outperformed market peers by 6% in stock gains for the last decade, showing that transparency and ambition are rewarded by the market.
