Used to hold bearings or sprockets on a shaft, situate components in motor and gearbox assemblies, or as mechanical stops, our shaft collars fix a shaft or rod into position and are available in metric or imperial sizes.
Set screw collars have screws that are tightened once the collar is in place, digging into the shaft. For best results, the screw must be harder than the shaft.
Clamp style shaft collar also uses a set screw, but it is used to tighten into itself, tightening the collar around the shaft to hold it into place. Clamping shaft collars are available in a one-piece design that has to be slid onto the shaft, or a two-piece design that can be placed over the shaft without removing other components.
Self-locking shaft collars slide on in one direction and lock automatically as the ball bearings jam themselves between the inner and outer rings.
